Leaking Fluid
Trouble Shooting > Transmission Leak
Symptom: Transmission leaks fluid
You may see red or brown fluid underneath your car. Transmission fluid leaks may develop in several areas of the transmission: gaskets, ruptured cases, loose or detached fluid lines, cracked torque converter housings, and more. Leaks may only occur when hot, while driving, or even when cold.
Possible Cause:
Leaks may lead to additional damage if left to continue. It is normal for a leak to develop under various conditions. Metal contractions due to temprature changes can create a leak. Or a brittle gasket may seal once it is warm and coated with fluid. Always check the fluid level and quality before long trips. Normally, transmission fluid should be pink and nor have a sulfer, or burnt, smell. Call our service manager at (425) 397-6111 to get extra trouble shooting help.
