Symptom: Transmission Noise
Automatic: Transmission vibrates during gear changes, thuds when put into gear,
noise when placed in four wheel drive. Start by checking your
transmission fluid.
If it is too low, fill the transmission with the fluid specified in your operators manual. If the noise persists call our service manager.
Manual: Transmission makes a thudding noise when you change gears.
You hear a grinding noise as you change gears even when you fully depress the clutch pedal.
Possible Cause:
Automatic:If corrected quickly, transmission noises can be repaired with minor adjustments or work. On the other hand, if left unresolved,
they may lead to serious internal damage. Call our service manager (425) 397-6111 to get extra trouble shooting help.
- Transmission fluid level is low or wrong type
- Dirty or contaminated fluid
- The shift linkage for the transmission needs to be adjusted
- Internal hard part damage
- The torque converter is bad
Manual:Clutch slipping will cause clutch surface damage. If not repaired,
